An interview with Felix Romero co-producer of a new documentary entitled “Hostos, the Struggle, the Victory: The 1976 Takeover to Save Hostos”. On Thursday, March 24 at 7pm the Ramon J. Jimenez Project will hold an event premiering the film to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the takeover that saved Hostos Community College in the 70’s and guaranteed a college education for thousands of people of color and working class communities. Hostos was one of the first bilingual colleges in the United States, and the first in New York City. It is part of the CUNY system.

The event will also honor Ramón Jiménez the Harvard-trained attorney, widely recognized as the most significant leader of the struggle. Ramon has been fighting a long term battle with cancer and attendees hope to express their love and appreciation for his lifetime of service. He will be seeing the first official version of the documentary on that evening.

Attendees of this event will learn valuable information on how to organize on a grassroots level. ¡En la unión está la fuerza! Call 646-299-6507 for free tickets.
